- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon mustard powder
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pasta: Set your oven to 350°F and cook the macaroni in boiling salted water until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain well.
- Mix Cheeses and Pasta: In a large bowl, combine the al dente macaroni with three-quarters of the cheddar and all of the mozzarella.
- Create the Sauce: In another bowl, whisk together milk, cream, eggs, sour cream, butter, and spices until smooth.
- Combine and Bake: Pour the sauce over the pasta mixture, stir to combine, and transfer to a greased baking dish. Top with remaining cheddar.
- Bake to Perfection: Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and bubbly. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
