  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

 

  1. Activate the Yeast:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and melted butter.
    • Sprinkle the yeast over the mixture and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add Eggs:

    • Add the eggs to the yeast mixture and beat until well combined.
  3. Form the Dough:

    • Gradually add the flour and salt, stirring until a dough begins to form.
    • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. First Rise:

    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top.
    • Cover with a clean cloth and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Shape the Rolls:

    • Punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface.
    • Divide the dough into 12-15 equal pieces and shape each into a ball.
  6. Second Rise:

    • Arrange the rolls on a greased baking sheet.
    • Cover with a cloth and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Bake the Rolls:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  8. Add Final Touches:

    • Remove from the oven and brush the warm rolls with melted butter if desired.
