For the Salisbury Steak:
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
For the Garlic Mashed Potatoes:
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Mushroom & Onion Gravy:
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste

Prepare the Salisbury Steak:
- In a bowl, mix together ground beef, bread crumbs, minced onion, egg, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard powder. Shape into 4-6 patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties on both sides until browned and cooked through, about 4 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Garlic Mashed Potatoes:
- Boil potatoes and garlic in a pot of salted water for about 20 minutes, or until tender.
- Drain and return to the pot. Add milk and butter, then mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cook the Mushroom & Onion Gravy:
- In the same skillet used for the steaks, add onions and mushrooms. Cook until softened and browned.
- Sprinkle flour over the onions and mushrooms, stirring to coat. Cook for about 1 minute.
- Gradually pour in beef broth and soy sauce, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper.

Assemble and Serve:
- Place a Salisbury steak on a plate, spoon garlic mashed potatoes beside it, and generously top both with mushroom and onion gravy.
