Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 large green pepper, thinly sliced
- 1/2 pound fresh shaved steak
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 12-pack of sweet bread buns
- 6 slices of provolone cheese
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (additional for the topping)
Instructions:
- Preheat and Prep:
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and green peppers, cooking until they’ve softened.
- Cook the Steak:
- To the same pan, add the shaved steak along with 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Break apart the steak with two forks to ensure it cooks evenly and prevents clumping. Continue cooking until the steak is no longer red. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Assemble the Sliders:
- Carefully slice the sweet bread buns in half horizontally, trying to keep them connected for easier assembly.
- Lay the bottom half of the buns on a baking sheet. Spread the steak mixture evenly across the buns. Top with slices of provolone cheese and then place the top half of the buns over the cheese.
- Top and Bake:
- In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, dried thyme, and an additional 1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. Brush this mixture generously over the top of the buns.
- Place the sliders in the oven and bake for 17-20 minutes, or until the buns are golden and the cheese has melted.
- Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let the sliders cool slightly before serving. They are best enjoyed warm, with the cheese gooey and slightly stretching as you pull them apart.
