Oven Roasted Turkey Breast

Oven Roasted Turkey Breast

This recipe is straightforward yet delivers impressive results.

  • Total Time: 33 minute
  • Yield: 6-8 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 bone-in turkey breast (about 6 to 7 pounds), thawed if frozen
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels, ensuring the skin is dry for crispness.

  2. Season the Turkey:
In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Rub this seasoning mix all over the turkey breast, ensuring it’s evenly coated.

  3. Set Up the Roasting Pan:
Place the turkey breast, breast side up, in a roasting pan. Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the pan to keep the meat moist as it roasts.

  4. Roast to Perfection:
Roast the turkey breast in the preheated oven for 1.5 to 2 hours. Use a meat thermometer to check the thickest part of the breast. It should read 165°F (74°C) when done.

  5. Rest Before Slicing:
Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes. This ensures the juices redistribute, making every slice tender and flavorful.
