- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup corn kernels, cooked
- 1/2 red onion, diced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 cup crushed tortilla chips
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain the excess fat and add taco seasoning as per the package instructions.
- Begin Layering: In a large glass bowl or trifle dish, start by layering half the lettuce at the bottom.
- Add the Fillings: Continue with layers of seasoned beef, tomatoes, bell pepper, black beans, corn, onion, and cheese.
- Repeat Layers: Repeat the layers once more, ending with the remaining lettuce on top for a fresh finish.
- Garnish: Top the salad with evenly spread dollops of sour cream and salsa. Right before serving, sprinkle the crushed tortilla chips over the top to keep them crisp.
