Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Peaches: Spread the sliced peaches evenly in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to create a smooth batter.
- Pour Over Peaches: Pour the batter evenly over the peaches. Do not stir; the batter will rise over the fruit as it bakes.
- Sprinkle Spices: If desired, lightly sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg over the top.
- Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the crust comes out clean.
