- 12 cabbage leaves
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup cooked rice
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Prep the Leaves: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Blanch the cabbage leaves in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then drain and cool.
- Make the Filling: Mix the ground beef, rice, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl.
- Roll the Cabbage: Place the filling on each leaf, roll it up, and tuck in the ends. Arrange the rolls seam side down in a baking dish.
- Prepare the Sauce: Combine tomato sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the rolls.
- Bake Covered: Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 1 hour, or until the meat is cooked and the rolls are tender.
