Instructions
- Prep for Baking: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Incorporate the vanilla extract.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually mix in the flour and salt until just combined.
- Fold in Cherries and Chips: Gently fold in the maraschino cherries and chocolate chips, if using.
- Shape the Cookies: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared sheet.
- Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges begin to turn golden.
- Cool and Dust: Let cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar.
