Bloomin’ Onion Bread

Bloomin’ Onion Bread

Get ready to enjoy the cheesy, garlicky goodness of this easy-to-make Bloomin’ Onion Bread.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 8 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 unsliced loaf of sourdough bread (or any large round bread)
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Bread: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Take the loaf of bread and cut it diagonally into 1-inch diamonds, but be careful not to slice through the bottom crust.
  2. Mix Filling: In a bowl, combine the Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses with the chopped green onions.
  3. Stuff the Bread: Gently separate the bread pieces and stuff the cheese mixture deep into the cuts.
  4. Prepare Butter Mixture: In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder and poppy seeds, if using.
  5. Apply Butter Mixture: Drizzle the butter mixture evenly over the bread, making sure it seeps into the cuts.
  6. Bake: Wrap the bread in foil and place it on a baking sheet. Bake covered for 15 minutes, then uncover and continue baking for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is thoroughly melted and the bread is crispy.
  7. Serve: Serve the bread warm, encouraging guests to pull apart the individual pieces.
